Job Title: Treasury/Payable Accountant

About the Job
The Payable Accountant will report to the Financial Controller and in addition to responsibility assigned by the FC, will be responsible for the underlisted:
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist in the Preparation and Analysis of Financial Statements on a monthly basis
· Ensures proper tracking of all payables (i.e. trade, regulatory and operational) and their set payment terms.
· Timely bank debt reconciliation and forensic review of all interest rates on CACs and other interest-bearing debt
· Ensures Proper prioritization of payables
· Determines daily the cashflow needs of the firm and advise on potential funding parameters.
· Projects free cash positions and advise on an optimal use of funds.
· Ensures that all settlements relating to client's debts are duly substantiated and authorized
· Ensures that all due authorizations are carried out before entries are made into the accounting system
· Ensures the smooth and timely execution of all banking payments
· Writing of cheques, raising and posting of vouchers
· Initiating online payments
· Preparation of payables schedules
· Bank reconciliation

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Accounting from a recognized university/polytechnic
- 3+ years of relevant experience in a well-structured organization
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) or Partly Qualified Accountant (ICAN/ACCA Professional Level) preferred
