Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as an Information Technology Officer in an organization located in Port Harcourt. The Information Technology Officer will be responsible for overseeing the organization's IT operations, implementing new IT systems, ensuring data security, providing technical support, and managing IT projects.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems and software.
- Ensure network security and data protection.
- Provide technical support to users, addressing hardware and software issues.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving IT-related problems.
- Manage local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and other communication systems.
- Monitor network performance and security.
- Maintain and optimize databases.
- Ensure data integrity and backup procedures are in place.
- Maintain accurate records of IT inventory, systems, and processes.
- Document troubleshooting steps and solutions for future reference.
- Help develop and enforce IT policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in IT systems, network administration, and cybersecurity.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related field.
- Relevant certifications in IT management or specific technologies.
- Previous experience in an IT support role is an advantage.
