Job Title: Legal & Compliance Manager
Location: Ajah, Lagos
We are a newly established microfinance bank set to commence operations, committed to regulatory compliance and legal excellence. We seek an experienced Legal & Compliance Manager to oversee legal matters, ensure regulatory adherence, and mitigate legal risks.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee compliance policies and procedures.
- Ensure the bank adheres to financial regulations and industry standards.
- Provide legal advisory services on corporate and regulatory matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies (CBN, NDIC, etc.) to ensure compliance with licensing and reporting requirements.
- Conduct compliance audits and risk assessments, identifying and mitigating legal risks.
- Manage dispute resolution, litigation, and corporate governance issues.
- first degree in Law (LLB), five (5) years of relevant work experience post-law school banking regulations, financial laws, and corporate governance
- Experience in contract law, regulatory compliance, and risk management. Nigerian Bar Association, CIBN
