Role Summary
The Monitoring, Evaluation and Compliance (MEC) Officer will engage in project plan, monitor implementation and conduct acceptance function management, ensuring that all infrastructure meets its planned usage, value and lifecycle requirements.
Key Accountabilities
• Conduct monitoring and evaluation of project works and maintenance operations activities
• Monitor all project activities, expenditures and progress towards achieving the project output.
• Perform critical inspection and review analysis for due diligence reports by measuring the completeness and accuracy of the information that is flowing back to the business
• Engage with Project and Service delivery teams on best engineering practices and compliance to business work ethics, standards and safety rules.
• Good experience and knowledge of alignment, termination, and testing of fiber optic cables to guarantee optimal performance
• Perform routine maintenance checks on fiber optic equipment to identify and resolve issues proactively
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues, signal degradation, and other technical problems related to fiber optic connections
• To undertake root cause analysis on issues identified through monitoring and ensure that any remediation and broader procedural changes that may be proposed are implemented within the stipulated timeframes
Qualifications/Experience
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Computer Science or science discipline.
- Experience in FTTH and Monitoring, Evaluation and Compliance will be an added advantage.
- 1-3 years of progressive experience in a results-based monitoring and evaluation environment or in FTTH work environment.
- Ability to work independently to efficiently meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Oral and written communication skills to deal effectively with mid and high-level operatives.
- Excellent computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet programs and database management.
