About the Job
- Ensure that you sign the attendance register accurately and correctly on arrival.
- Attend formal parades according to the set standards and procedures.
- Ensure the task is being executed in accordance with site and post instructions
- The Security guard has a direct responsibility to the customer to ensure the professional management and prevention of risks and the application of sound loss prevention measures.
- The Security guards are responsible to alert proper authorities in the event of fire, accidents, crime, or other emergencies and illegal activities on site.
- Responsible for submitting legible, timely reports as required
- Reporting of suspicious circumstances or possible safety/health (HSE) hazards in timely and precise manner in accordance with company policy.
- Maintain accurate and auditable documentation
- Undertake other activities as and when required.
- The security guard must be properly groomed and equipped e.g. with baton.
- Detail handing and taking over between Security Officers to be done. All equipment to be handed over per serial number, including components of equipment such as antenna, batteries, phones etc. Written hand and taking over to be reflected in the occurrence book.
- Perform a physical check of all bags and luggage’s making sure that no illegal, prohibited, or unauthorized item or items like firearms, sharp objects, or intoxicating substances are taken into the site. Bags and luggage of personnel, visitors, and contractors are also to be searched while egressing the site, except that a waiver is granted by the client security representative or senior management, as the case may be. Confiscate all such items and record them as an incident. If, for some reason, a security officer's bag is not checked, an entry must be made in the occurrence book. You must also make sure an entry is made in the occurrence book reflecting that all bags have been checked.
- Security guards' bags and/or belongings are not allowed to be taken beyond the guard post. All bags are neatly stowed in the guard post out of sight.
- All site equipment to be checked within the first hour of duty.
- Perform a physical inspection of all items on site as per the site inventory.
- Check that all equipment is in a serviceable and good working order. Special attention must be given to the serviceability and condition of torches, metal detectors, under mirror scanners, radios, and EPMS (GMU device)..
- Any defect and/or shortage must be recorded in the occurrence book as an incident and reported to the control room as soon as possible, but within 2 hours.
- Ensure that you are well acquainted with the customer policy and the contents of post instructions and SOPs
- Ensure that you sign off your time sheet latest 1000hrs on the 16th day of the month.
- You must ensure that you perform patch duties if applicable to your site.
- You must work according to the posting sheet as rostered by Easy Roster.
