Summary
The Assistant Project Manager will support the Project Manager to plan and implement daily operations of the project in accordance with company and project specific standard operating procedures (SOPs), guidelines, Budget, timeliness and contracts.

Essential Duties and responsibilities
 To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

Support the development of Operational plans in consistent with project needs and strategies, including but not limited to development and implementation of communication plans, training plans and monitor project progress and ensure compliance with plans.
Support Coordination with Partners (EOC members, Unicef, WHO, CDC, Rotary, et.c) to ensure children missed during polio Immunization Plus Days (IPD) campaigns are tracked and vaccinated during In-Between-Round activities.
Support Kano EOC in the compilation and analysis of IPD-related data.
Follow-up with the UNICEF Social Mobilization Consultant to ensure timely submission of IPD missed children data and weekly updates.
Support the Project Manager to work closely with stakeholders, partners and project team for all project related activities.
Support Collection and analysis of field data on Polio Eradication missed children and ensure proper archiving.
Ensure that all LGAs receive required missed children data tools before the IPD campaigns.
Support the Project Manager to ensure timely payment of logistics allowances to End Game Strategy (EGS) stakeholders.
Actively participate in resolving polio non-compliance cases and child absent follow-up with the support of LGA teams and other stakeholders.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representation of knowledge skills and/or ability required to successfully perform this job

Education /Experience

Bachelor's degree from recognised college or University in Social Science, computer Science, Data Management, Project management or related field.
Minimum of three years experience in project management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong knowledge of Global Polio Eradication Initiatives.
Strong leadership skills that includes the ability to work effectively with project teams as well as mentoring other members on caregivers behavioural change.
Excellent interpersonal skills, organization skills and great attention to details. Must be able to work as a leader and member of a team and possess good problem solving skills.
Must have ability to manage conflicts and resolve problems effectively.
Good learning ability.

Certifications and Licenses

A project Management (PMI) certification is preferred
First Aid and Health & Safety qualification desirable
Computer Skills
Advance computer skills, including microsoft Windows and microsoft office.
Working knowledge of collaborative/cloud computing is desirable.
Proficiency working within specialized software utilized in program.
Language Ability

English is the spoken and writing Language.
Fluency in Hausa is highly desirable.
Ability to read, analyse, proof and edit documents and interpret general business periodicals or Government regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondences and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and responds to questions from groups of managers employees and the general public.
Math ability
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to Practical situations.
