hunger and diseases that threaten the lives of vulnerable communities, through
nutrition, food security, water and sanitation, health and advocacy.
Job Summary
The Health Officer will be based in Maiduguri, Borno State
and report to the Nutrition Deputy Program Manager. He/she will support the
implementation of health component and community approach through regular
contact and exchange with community and identify the community volunteers to be
trained for acute malnutrition case identification and referral as well as
public health promotion activities. The Health Officer will participate in the
design and implementation of training workshops for community volunteers and
also conduct regular monitoring and supervision in respective hospitals to
ensure quality of CMAM In-Patient services.
The successful
candidate will;
Have a minimum of bachelor’s degree in Health, Nutrition,
Nursing or related field. Higher level Degree preferred.
Have a minimum of 2 years working experience in similar
setting, with at least 1 year in conflict/insecure context.
Have previous experience in CMAM, IYCF and community
mobilization.
Be flexible, able and willing to frequently travel to villages
and stay on the field.
Have the capacity to supervise and coach health workers.
Have excellent Microsoft office, statistical proficiency and
project management skills.
Be fluent in English and other local languages preferably.
Have previous experience in managing mobilization in
different interventions (i.e. cash transfers, WASH, Nutrition, Health).
