Job Title: Kitchen Manager

Location: Island; Lagos

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating and disciplining kitchen personnel as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and supervise all food preparation activities (processing and finishing)
  • Ensure that all food and products are consistently processed, finished, packed and stored according to our recipes, portioning, packing and storage standards.
  • Assist with establishing kitchen processes and preparing standard recipe cards.
  • Order food stock and ingredients as specified and receive supplies in accordance with our receiving policies and procedures.
  • Maintain stock inventory levels and conduct periodic scheduled inventory
  • Maintain weekly and monthly cost reports
  • Oversee training of kitchen personnel in safe operation of all kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection.
  • Oversee maintenance and repairs on kitchen appliances
  • Keep all kitchen areas clean and sanitary at all times
  • Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area
  • Maintain appropriate cleaning schedules for kitchen floors, walls, hoods, other equipment and food storage areas
  • Train kitchen personnel in cleanliness and sanitation practices.



Requirements:

  • Strong leadership skills (organizational and decision-making)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a hands-on manager with menu adherence experience
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule (evenings and weekends)
  • Ability to delegate tasks
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • High level of cleanliness and personal hygiene
  • Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations


Qualifications:

Minimum Higher Education (OND/HND)
Proven work experience as a Kitchen Manager, head chef/cook or similar role
Certification from a culinary school is a plus
