Purpose / Role
The purpose of this role is to lead, build and drive the sales opportunity in oil and gas section, managing a sales funnel and converting opportunities into booked work. Whilst also engaging with the market place, building market presence and leveraging regional industry networks.
Prime Responsibilities and Duties
· Ensure all registrations are closed out. The registrations include but not limited to DPR, NIPEX, IOC and Government parastatals etc
· Ensure that all government statutory payments are made as of when due (FIRS, TAX Clearance, NSITF, ITF, CAC Annual Returns etc)
· Ensure that all registration renewals are processed as at when due (DPR, NSITF, Nipex , NIMASA, Recruiter’s License, CAC Annual Returns etc
· Ensure that Nipex Portal ad other e-procurement portals of the IOs are checked at least four times a day before close of business
· Initiate and maintain a good business relationship with all our prospective clients
· Weekly reconcile promptly with account department all company expenses
· Ensuring company’s growth objectives are attained; articulating new business development opportunities and identifying, negotiating and managing relationships with technical partners in line with corporate goals.
· Develop and articulate a comprehensive tactical business development plan to accomplish the organization’s business goal.
· Identify prospects and develop sales strategies to penetrate and get new accounts. This includes preparation of presentations and tenders.
· Identify, evaluate and develop new business opportunities and feasibility reports supporting growth based on intelligence.
· Lead the formulation, execution and monitoring of company’s business development, market penetration strategies and plans for enhancing business growth.
· Monitor company performance against agreed business target.
· Assist in the preparation of bids/proposals.

Core Operational / Technical Competencies
Minimum of 7 years cognate experience 3 of which must have been in management. In-depth knowledge of up-coming and on-going key projects in the Oil and Gas Sector, shipping sector, Environmental and Engineering services. An eye for fashioning out business opportunities and supporting business growth. A good role model.
· Demonstrated commercial acumen; can initiate, expedite and deliver
· Business development, sales and client relationship focused background
· Experienced Business Developer, understands process, timescales, clients and markets
· Oil and gas product and market knowledge / understanding is an advantage but it is not
strictly necessary
· Willing to travel, on frequent short-term assignments
· Ability to handle large amounts of complex information in a detailed and coordinated manner
quickly; analytical
· Strong people skills especially when dealing with different cultures
· Ability to work with a range of stakeholders in a pressured environment
· Can see the strategic picture as well as deal with the micro detail; easily identifies key issues
· Excellent oral and written skills, comfortable presenting formally and informally to groups of
people
· Can work as the leader of a team or as a member of a team, able to make decisions
