Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Investment Analyst to lead and manage our investment function by contributing to the formulation and implementation of investment strategies, creating and implementing financial models, analytical reports and recommendations. As the senior investment analyst, you will be responsible for supporting and leading critical elements of the investment evaluation process for funds including assessment of potential new investment opportunities, analysis for follow on financings and exit transactions for current portfolio companies. He/She will also be primarily required to extensively collaborate with the Senior management to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and evaluating potential new investments for a wide variety of sectors with the capability to produce strong returns.
  • Tracking and managing the pipeline of new potential investments
  • Developing detailed financial models and projections to enable and support investment decision making
  • Performing market research and competitive analysis
  • Drafting investment cases and business plans to support the process of making new investments
  • Conducting due diligence on potential investment opportunities  
  • Managing the process of deal documentation, legal review, financial administration  
  • Collaborating with legal counsel, accountants, auditors and other service providers to manage investments
  • Working alongside key stakeholders serving on portfolio companies as well as directly with Senior Management Teams of portfolio companies on specific strategic initiatives.
  • Focusing on analytical assessments including pricing analysis, competitive positioning, ROI for new marketing product development initiatives, COGS analysis and supply chain efficiency.
  • Supporting the company on fundraising or strategic partnership development by producing investor presentations, drafting business plans and strategic plans.
  • Delivering on monthly financial assessment of portfolio companies through analysis of key financial and business metrics.
  • Tracking and managing production of quarterly reports to the senior management team.
  • Supporting the  investment team on administrative needs including scheduling meetings with entrepreneurs for new investments, coordinating meetings with portfolio company management teams.
  • Contributing to building knowledge in the field of social and environmental impact through innovative for profit business models.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years in investment banking, strategic corporate development (M&A), venture capital or private equity investing or management consulting
  • Bsc. in Finance, Accounting or similar relevant field. Recent MBA graduates will also be considered
  • ICAN/ACCA accreditation (essential).
  • CPA, CFA license (Plus)
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • In-depth knowledge of financial procedures and statistics 
  • Hands-on experience with investment analysis software 
  • Outstanding research skills (quantitative and qualitative)
  • Experience in entrepreneurial environments and the flexibility to work in both highly structured corporate settings and less structured start‐up environments  
  • A collaborative thinker who works well in teams and is also an independent, self‐starter  
  • Strong commitment to social and environmental change through business and innovation 
  • Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
  • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Tools, and other financial planning software.
