Overview:

For a financial service provider specialized in lending like ours, this position is a key role in our sustainability and profitability. As an Accountant, your responsibilities will include overseeing end-to-end finance operations, financial planning, and analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, looking to make improvements to procedures and controls, as well as ad-hoc projects and requests as and when they come up.’_

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and monitor monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (balance sheets and income statements etc) and recommend further courses of action

2. Forecast costs and revenues

3. Manage the preparation of the company’s budget

4. Conduct regular reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.

5. Manage accounts and tax returns and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations

6. Managing an end-to-end internal audit process of current systems while acting as the first point of contact for external auditors

7. Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies

8. Analyse financial trends

9. Perform month-end and year-end close processes

10. Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met.

11. Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take

12. Conduct detailed risk analyses to assess potential investments

13. Maintain the financial health of the organization.

14. Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales & revenue results and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans/budget.

15. Develop trends and projections for the firm’s finances.

16. Correspond with various other departments, discussing company plans and agreeing on future paths to be taken.

Requirements and skills:

• Proven work experience as a Financial Manager, Accountant or similar role

• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software

• In-depth understanding of business bookkeeping procedures

• Solid knowledge of accounting regulations

• Excellent math skills with an attention to detail

• Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used

• Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations

• BSc degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field

• Additional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus

• 3-5 years’ experience

• Must reside within the mainland

Note:

Age limit: 40 years

Salary Range: N100,000 – N400,000
