Job Summary:

The accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, overseeing daily accounting operations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and tax obligations. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in financial reporting, cash flow management, and accounting for foreign currency transactions typical of BDC operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain proper books of accounts using approved accounting software.
  • Record daily forex transactions, cash inflows/outflows, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
  • Ensure accurate recording of FX gains/losses and revaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with CBN financial reporting standards and applicable BDC financial regulations.
  • Prepare and submit statutory tax filings including VAT, WHT, PAYE, and company income tax in liaison with tax consultants or auditors.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of financial returns required by regulatory authorities such as FIRS, CBN, and CAC.
  • Monitor and project daily cash balances, including foreign and local currency positions.
  • Assist in managing liquidity to support daily FX operations.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and maintain proper records of forex purchases and sales.
  • Implement financial control procedures to reduce fraud and financial misstatements.
  • Assist in internal and external audits, ensuring timely provision of supporting documentation.
  • Monitor expenditure to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
  • Process staff payroll and maintain accurate records of salaries, benefits, and statutory deductions.
  • Support procurement and vendor payment processes by verifying invoices and preparing payment vouchers.
  • Maintain an organized filing system of all financial documents for audit readiness.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of a B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a financial service or BDC environment.
  • Professional certification like ICAN, ACCA.
  • Knowledge of Crypto, USDT, is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, CBN guidelines, and FX transaction accounting.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar tools).
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and integrity.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.



Salary Range: ₦250,000 – ₦400,000 monthly
